With more than 80 years under our belt, Roundstone Caravans has a pretty rich history when it comes to caravanning. We thought it only right to give you an insight into how we came about, how Roundstone has grown over the years and what stands us apart from the crowd when it comes to buying and maintaining your caravan, tourer or holiday home.

In the beginning

Founded in 1930, Roundstone Caravans was born from humble beginnings by our current owner’s Great-Grandfather. Just 20 odd years earlier, the Caravan Club had been established in 1907; a move that saw the popularity of the unassuming caravan skyrocket.

Our founder kick started the Roundstone venture by trading and dealing with trailers and caravans that he constructed himself in the heart of West Sussex.  In 1937, the business had grown and thrived enough to move to more established grounds in Southwater, close to Horsham, where our HQ still currently resides all these years later.

Over the years, the caravan industry as a whole has seen many changes, consequently pushing Roundstone Caravans to meet new expectations and keep up with the times. Caravans fast became more than just travel trailers: they became people’s homes; people’s pride and joys. The caravanning industry is now worth an estimated £1bn; with more than 550,000 touring caravans said to be used for leisure purposes in the UK right now, according to The NCC; proof that our obsession with caravans is only on the up.

With this ever-evolving industry, and Britain’s growing love affair with caravans and tourers, comes big change in how Roundstone Caravans handles business and welcomes new customers.

Our expert team has grown exponentially in recent times with a host of highly trained, specialist technicians as well as a thriving sales and customer service team. Our forecourt is bursting with the latest models and best-selling tourers to feast your eyes on and we’re always looking for new ways to entice new, budding caravanners.

We are currently one of the very few caravan retailers in West Sussex and the surrounding area to boast a fully equipped NCC approved workshop that’s constantly buzzing with extensively trained, fully professional technicians. It’s their job to make sure your tourer, holiday home or caravan is up to scratch with all the latest gizmos and gadgets as well as being fully serviced.

It’s our team that really sets us apart from the rest; we pride ourselves on excellent customer satisfaction and you are always our top priority. Buying a holiday home or touring caravan is a big investment.
